Elsie M. Hood Outstanding Teacher Award

Date nominations due: March 1

Eligibility
All assistant, associate, and full professors, except for previous recipients.

Nominations
Nominations are accepted from faculty, students, and alumni. The nominators must provide  “a supporting statement not to exceed 500 words.” The nominations must be sent to the Chancellor’s Office.

Selection criteria
The Selection Committee is composed of eight previous recipients, along with the director of Alumni Affairs and a student representative.  Criteria include the following:

  • nominating letters that describe examples of exceptional teaching
  • also letters that have been submitted for the nominees in previous years.
